On the low setting, it provides 85 lumens, 1,000 candela, a beam distance of 63 meters and a 12-hour runtime. The strobe runs for 1.5 continuous hours.
The ProTac HL USB uses a C4® LED that is impervious to shock. It runs on an included Streamlight lithium ion rechargeable battery pack; it also functions with a commercially available 18650 rechargeable lithium ion battery, or two CR123A lithium cell batteries. The ProTac HL USB also features an innovative adaptable battery compartment design that eliminates battery rattle. An optional USB/AC wall adapter is available.
The light is fabricated from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, and includes a convenient multi-function, push-button, tactical tail switch. Streamlight Sidewinder Rescue
Use as Life-Saving Beacon in Water and Other Emergencies
Streamlight has introduced the Sidewinder Rescue, a slim, lightweight tactical light that also functions as a personal distress marker for use in water rescues and other emergencies.
The Sidewinder Rescue provides four LED colors, multiple intensity levels and a strobe, giving military personnel all the tools they need for a distress marker, and avoiding the need for filters that can be lost or broken. It boasts a white C4® LED that offers 55 lumens of bright, white light, 1,175 candela peak beam intensity and a 69-meter beam distance. The light also includes a five-millimeter infrared LED for covert operation use; a blue LED for alerting friendly forces and distinguishing its strobe feature from ground fire; and a green LED to help preserve night vision.
Each of the lighting modes provides four intensity levels and a strobe mode that operates at 100% intensity. When operated with two AA alkaline batteries, the light delivers more than 100 hours of run time on the low output level for the white C4 LED, 150 plus hours for the blue and green LEDs and more than 200 hours for the infrared LED. On high, the white C4 LED provides 5.5 hours of run time, the blue and green LEDs provide 16 hours, and the infrared LED provides 24 hours. Run times in strobe mode range from 10 hours on the C4 LED setting to 40 hours on the infrared setting.
The light also accepts lithium AA batteries for extended operation in extreme temperature environments (-40° F to 150° F).
The light’s compound On-Off mode selector switch ergonomically separates the On-Off, dimming, strobe and LED-selection functions. A rubber dome actuator and four-position pull-to-turn locking rotary selector knob with an infrared tactile indicator offers easy operation, even with heavy gloves, and prevents accidental mode changes. The light also features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens with scratch-resistant coating.
The Sidewinder Rescue measures 4.65 inches in length and weighs 5.02 ounces with the included alkaline batteries (4.38 ounces with lithium batteries). It features a high-impact, super tough nylon case, which offers exceptional durability and weather resistance. With O-ring and gasket-sealed openings, the light features an IPX7 rated design and is waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It meets MIL-STD-810F, Method 512.4 guidelines for waterproof operation.
The Sidewinder Rescue comes in multiple configurations, including one that includes a paracord lanyard and a MOLLE retainer.
Streamlight Siege AA Lantern
AA Battery-Powered Lantern is Compact, Bright and Easy to Transport
Streamlight introduced a streamlined, compact version of The Siege lantern, the Siege AA. The cordless LED lantern, which uses easily sourced AA alkaline batteries, is ideal for a wide variety of outdoor, safety and do-it-yourself applications. Weighing about half a pound, it also is easy to carry and store.
The Siege AA features one white C4 LED and two red LEDs to provide five output modes. The new lantern has a polycarbonate, glare-reducing globe cover that makes it comfortable to use in close quarters without impacting vision, providing 360 degrees of soft, even light. With the cover removed, the lantern also can be used to illuminate large areas, either by standing it upright or hanging it upside down using the light’s bottom D-ring for easy attachment. The lantern will float when its globe cover is in place.
The lantern, which uses three “AA” cell alkaline batteries, weighs just 8.8 ounces with batteries (not included), and is 5.44 inches tall. Its white LED features High, Medium and Low and Off output modes, while its red LEDs provide High, SOS and Off settings. Users can easily change the light beam color or output modes by depressing and holding the on/off button for short sequences. The recessed power button prevents users from turning the light on or off accidentally.
With the cover removed, the white C4 LED delivers 200 lumens on High, 100 lumens on Medium, and 50 lumens on Low. The red High setting provides 0.7 lumens and the red emergency setting flashes at “Red high lumen level.”
Run times for the white LED are 7 hours (High), 15.5 hours (Medium), and 37 hours (Low); the red LEDs run for 8 days on High, and the SOS mode provides 12 days of run time.
A battery indicator in the on/off button changes from green to yellow to red, and then to flashing red when the batteries are at the end of their useable life. Battery replacement is made simple by the light’s center post, which helps orient the battery cover correctly every time.
The Siege AA features high quality construction, with a casing made from tough polycarbonate thermoplastic construction with elastomer over mold. It is IPX7 rated for waterproof operation to one meter, and is impact resistance-tested to 2 meters. Its included D-Ring on the bottom is spring loaded to fold out of the way when not in use. An ergonomic handle makes the lantern easy to carry, and is designed to hook on any horizontal edge or bar.
