Quantum Prism Rods
Serious-Minded design at super competitive price
Making a fishing rod series everybody will love is like making one set of golf clubs to fit and satisfy anybody
that's ever picked up a putter. That's why product managers at Quantum invested so heavily in their efforts to design a rod series offering something all avid anglers will love.
Introducing Prism - a series of four spinning rods and three casting rods with widely varying actions and handle designs to satisfy hard-core bass anglers and walleye chasers alike.
"We talked to walleye anglers who told us they prefer a full cork handle, and yet, serious bass fishermen want a split grip EVA foam/cork combo on their casting sticks," says Quantum's Michael Whitman. "So we rifled-in on the regional preferences of those serious anglers and produced something all would appreciate in one very affordable series."
The rod guides are serious too. Unlike cheaper ceramic inserts that often pop-out at the most inopportune time, Prism's rod guides feature hard chrome inserts that are super smooth and bulletproof.
Lengths range from a 6' 6" spinning model, up to a 7' 6" heavy action casting rod best suited for flippin' and pitchin' to thick largemouth habitat - all for under one hundred bucks each.
Quantum Monster Baitcast Reel
Built to take on high-powered species such as steelhead, musky, blue cats, and striped bass, the brand new
Monster reel gets its name from its very large spool that is capable of launching the baits that entice these battling beasts - while providing the line capacity to keep up with the line torching long runs they often make.
Monster holds 210 yards of 14 lb test line on a relatively low profile frame. It's built of tough aluminum, and protected by Saltguard 2.0, which contains a Quantum exclusive SCR Alloy that is free of impurities that lead to rust in lesser built reels. The SCR Alloy is then covered in Quantum's proprietary coating process to further prevent rust and assure long-range performance.
Inside Monster's salt-protected chamber is a Performance Tuned Carbon Stainless Ceramic (CSC) drag system that resists heat and warping when a monster steelhead or musky makes a line-testing run away from the boat. Furthermore, speaking of drag, Monster delivers a best-in-class 23 to 26 lbs of lockdown, and up to 34"of line pick-up with every turn of the oversized 95mm handle.
Available in both right and left-handed models, in 7.1:1 and 6.4:1 gear ratios, an internally housed centrifugal braking system allows for precision cast control, and a heavy duty brass main gear, pinion and drive shaft assure smoothness and long term I-beam like durability.
Quantum Blue Runner Spinning Reel
A whole new look for big water spinning
Recreational saltwater anglers will recognize the affordable new Blue Runner from Quantum. Well - kinda.
The Blue Runner series has been around salty shorelines for a number of years, but the latest version looks far fresher as a result of its brand new corrosion resistant graphite body and cosmetic finish.
However, it's not just a new look that makes Blue Runner appealing to anglers looking for a highly affordable saltwater spinning reel. Inside, there's a significantly upgraded spool now made of forged and machined aluminum for much better drag power and smoothness.
Speaking of smooth drag performance, a multi-stack drag system made of various heat dissipating materials stands up well to whatever inshore species you favor, and like all of Blue Runner's internal parts - the drag is saltwater protected.
Winding on a 'drag-screamer' becomes more comfortable with the all new Blue Runner as a result of the soft touch oversized rubber handle, instead of hard plastic.
Available in sizes 40, 50, 60 and 80, Blue Runner reels begin at $29, and combos range from $39 to $59.
