Built With Exclusive SuperLine Spool System to Eliminate Slipping Superline No more taping line to the spool, no more monofilament backing to hold superline on the spool and no special knot to tie superline on the spool. Abu Garcia introduces the exclusive SuperLine Spool System available only on the new Sorön STX Series of spinning reels.
With the Fast Tie Design (Patent Pending), two elastomeric rings built into the spool keep superline from spinning on the spool. The body, body cover, rotor and bail arm are built with X-Cräftic corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy to be super light, extremely durable and corrosion resistant even in saltwater. With the Carbon Matrix Drag System, the angler feels a solid and smooth line drag, not the erratic pull of line felt on most other drag systems.
Eleven High Performance Corrosion Resistant (HPCR) bearings provide smoothness during casts and retrieves. Duragear gears made of heavy-duty and corrosion resistant brass add to the reel’s durability and long life. Lighter Weight - More Fun to Fish With, Easy to Use A fishing companion for generations, the Abu Garcia Abumatic spincast reel is now lighter, more compact and retains the durability renown in reels with the Abu Garcia name. Lighter than the original Abumatic reels, these new versions give the angler a more comfortable feel to further enhance the fishing experience.
The compact reels feature improved design and components for longer lasting service. An ultra smooth spool drag system helps manage any fish that might tug the line. The dual rotating swing-arm pick-up pins never miss collecting line onto the spool. Instant Anti-Reverse is standard on all these Abumatic reels as is a 3.6:1 gear ratio. All can be configured for left or right hand operation.
Duragear gears, a feature typically found only on baitcast reels, add to the reel’s durability and long life. Two-bearing Models 276i and 276Ui, four-bearing 476i and five-bearing 576i are pre-spooled with high quality Berkley Trilene monofilament fishing line and the 1276i is specially engineered for and spooled with Berkley FireLine superline.
The titanium nitride line guide found on each reel will not wear down, with monofilament or superlines. Under-Spin casting is found on the Abumatic 276Ui. Hanging under the rod like an open-face spinning reel, the reel has an easy to operate line release handle and functions much like a spinning reel with the ease of a closed face model.

Built Abu Garcia Tough with Baitcast Reel Features Swedish engineered, the new Abumatic 170i incorporates features typically reserved for baitcast reels. The 170i with aluminum body and front cone is built to handle tough conditions and even tougher fish.
A smooth drag is critical and the 170i incorporates the Carbon Matrix Drag System. Anglers feel a solid and smooth line drag, not the erratic pull of line felt on most other drag systems. Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5500/6500 Classic Inshore Baitcast Reel A Proven Reel Internationally Now Available Stateside European saltwater anglers have enjoyed the features of the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5500/6500 Classic Inshore reels and now North American anglers have access to this saltwater workhorse.
The round, one-piece reel frame and side plate of the Classic Inshore is made of X-Cräftic aluminum alloy. This material is more durable and lighter than regular aluminum and is highly corrosion resistant, ideal for saltwater applications. Abu Garcia 7000iC3 CT MAG HS Baitcast Reel The Ultimate Big-Water Casting Reel The Abu Garcia 7000iC3 CT MAG Hi-Speed baitcast reel is a large series size 7 round reel designed for big water casting. Special considerations for cranking comfort and angler success were built into the reel.
The gear ratio of 5.3:1 recovers 28" of line with each crank to provide higher speed retrieval of big baits in both freshwater and saltwater situations. Comparatively large for casting reels in general, the 19.9 oz 7000i is very manageable. The MagTrax brake system is easily configured with the side plate knob for adjustments to match the fish or fishing conditions.

This is critical when managing big fish with hard, knot-snapping pulls and long line-stripping runs.
